LIFE IS A GAME

so it's all your own choice

This page is nothing special. These are all common ideas and opinions. They have no relationship with panoramic sensing.

Over the ages philosophers and poets have told us that life is an illusion, just a game, a delusion, dream or play. These are all fine examples of abstract thought.

Animals aren't playing a game. Animals often get eaten alive. Life's not an illusion or a dream – animals have to be still and silent and use their

senses to be safe and survive.

Life is only a game for the privileged and talented few, usually with good backgrounds, special education to encourage their talents, and no mortgages to pay off. They live in ivory towers, c/o cloud cuckoo land.

If we could all act and if we all got the same confirmation as the specially talented thinkers, influencers, writers, actors, leaders, poets, and musicians – if we could all get the social recognition and the financial rewards of a successful star, life would work out fine.

People who are good at some form of display are in a special category. This has been true since the Hindu scribes who first proclaimed life is an illusion. They had the magical, almost divine ability to write in an illiterate world.

These are clever people, rejoicing in their own achievements, blinded by their own talents, indulging in romantic idealism.

Such ideas may sound attractive to poets and idealists, but they are tragic delusions devoid of empathy.

This sort of thinking must have caused endless suffering among common people who have to work the fields and factories for shelter and food.

All your own choice

The idea that what you do in life is "all your own choice" comes from the same philosophers as life is a game.

It's true that there are multiple choices in the modern world, but most people are still limited by opportunity, and just the necessities of life.

For rich or talented people, free of 40 hour weeks, rush hour traffic, kids to clothe and feed, etc., life is their own choice. Talented and rich people have special options even in countries suffering famine or war.

Over the ages philosophers and poets have proclaimed that life is an illusion and we have to learn to play the game.

It was first written in the Hindu philosophy of Maya. Maya is interpreted in different ways, but the most simplistic straightforward idea is that our material physical life including pain and suffering is an illusion. The real life is spiritual.

Life is like a play: it's not the length, but the excellence of the acting that matters. (Seneca ca. 4 BC – AD 65)

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages (Shakespeare).

In 1968 The Incredible String Band told us again about 'Maya' : “All this world is but a play, Be thou the joyful player”.
